The Dolls

The dolls of Pleasantville are full of personality and life. :) The families in town are all posted here with small biographies and their pets. Keep in mind that many of the characters I have planned do not have dolls to portray them in Pleasantville. Also please do not be suprised if the characters are similar to the ourdolls dolls. Some are coincidences, like Rebecca, but most characters were simply inspired by their dolls. This page will be added to as needed.

Rivera/ di Angelo

 

 

(Left) Sophie di Angelo(16) is the step sister of Amy Rivera, whom she also considers her best friend. She lives with Amy and their friend Susan Fields. Sophie has traveled all over the world with her mother, an actress, and is an excellant cook who loves to recreate their family's old Italian recipes. This is one of the reasons she became a waitress at the Lucky Clover. She is an artist and likes working with watercolors and oil pastels best. Sophie is very much a dog person and is not fond of Susan's cat. She is very independant and doesn't mind voicing her opinions for all to hear.Her style is modern with 1930s influence.

 

(Right)Amethyst (Amy) Rivera (16) is the stepsister of Sophie di Angelo. She was the town's first resident and one of the most influential. She is not close with her father, who lives out of town, however she talks with her grown-up sister, Grace, almost every day. Grace also lives out of town, and although she helps Samantha Parkington plan events, she is never seen. Amy is very artsy and loves to sew, as well as do other handcrafts like crocheting, knitting, etc. She also is an amazing baker and owns her own sweet shop called Sweet Treats, however most people refer to it as The Sweet Shop. Amy is very bright and active and likes keeping busy. She spends her free time sketching and playing soccer with her westie Coconut. She loves to garden too, and has a lovely flower garden. Amy is the Montoya's cousin and therefore has a modern style with their Spanish influence. She also has some Chinese in her and this affects her style as well.

 

This is Amy's frisky, high-spirited Westie, Coconut. she is very friendly and likes snuggling, and playing soccer with Amy and Chip.

This is Chocolate Chip(also known as Chip). She is Sophie laid-back labordor who likes tormenting Licorice, playing soccer with Coconut, trying to sit in your lap before realizing she's a little too big for that.

 

 



Fields

Susan Fields(16) was the town's second resident and is Amy's best friend. She lives with Amy and Sophie (also her friend) and is a waitress at the Lucky Clover.  She is a bit of a spoiled brat sometimes, but is usually her normal self, which is sweet, kind, caring and very smart (despite her hair :)). She does not like to talk about her estranged mother or her pilot father, who died in a car accident when she was young. She likes to try new recipes, watch movies, and surf the web on her laptop. Her style is modern with 1940s and 50s influence.



Licorice is Susan's cat. She is very curious, but cautious as the dogs like to play tricks on her. She is also very glamorous and must have her long fur brushed daily.

 

 

Hamilton

 Bethany (Beth) Hamilton(18) is fairly new in town. She legally owns the resturant, the Lucky Clover, and is a waitress there alongside Sophie and Susan. She loves cooking and serving others in the resturant. She will eventually have her own apartment above the Lucky Clover but is living with the other modern girls (Amy, Sophie, Susan) until it is built. Beth has a bad habit of jumping into other people's conversations and adding her own thoughts. This tends to annoy some of her customers. She is very social and is a bit of a gossip. Her style is modern with some 1970s influence.

 

 

Merriman 

(Left) Felicity Merriman(16) is the oldest child of Edward and Lily Merriman (who are currently living in England with their only son, William) and  is from colonial Williamsburg. She is very much a leader, bordering on bossy, and a perfectionist. To prove to her mother that she is capable of efficiently running a household, she offered to take her sister to Pleasantville early to start up her father's general store.  Since Nancy's ship  was delayed for a few months, Felicity was roomates with the modern girls and is now very good friends with them. She enjoys sewing, cooking, cleaning, working at her father's store, ballet, and horse-back riding. However her horse Penny is also still in England and Nancy is very frightened of large animals.

 

(Right) Nancy Merriman(8) is The youngest Merriman child. She is considered "delicate" by the Pleasantville residents and would much prefer staying inside to have a tea party then playing in the woods or stomping in the mud. However she loves flowers and because Felicity has not started a garden yet, she  has Amy's permission to pick flowers from her garden. She getting very good at sewing and embroidering, and although she can't make a dress, has been fixing trim and other small things in the dresses Felicity sews her. She is polite, well-mannered and aspires to be like her mother and older sister. She is enrolled at Proper School and her best friend is Bridget O'Malley.

 

Ginger is Felicity's sweet, cuddly and playful calico cat. She is fairly quiet but likes playing with Nancy.

 

 

 

 Larson

Britta Larson is currently the only Larson that is portrayed by a doll. Her family is looking for a place to build a log cabin in town, but are also trying to deal with some out-of-town business therefore, Britta is the only one in her family to sit and sell things at the food market they own. She is considered a tad rude because she likes to tell people exactly what's on her mind and it's not always nice. She likes sledding, playing in the woods, swimming and playing with her best friend  Rebecca Montoya. She has a Swedish and German heritage, is a pioneer and is enrolled at Proper School.

Montoya

(left)Josefina Montoya(16) is the second oldest child of Andres and Dolores Montoya. They are living in Mexico City at the moment with their eldest daughter Francisca. Josefina decided to come early and Rebecca tagged along back after Josefina went back to visit her family. She is the town curandera, or healer, and spends a good chunk of every day collecting herbs to use in her remedies. Because healing does not bring in a steady income, Josefina and Rebecca started up the family's laundry business as well. Josefina loves sewing, weaving, and making pottery, some of which she sells. She is a pretty good cook, but only if following a detailed recipe. She is very patient and calm in even the worst of situations, and hardly ever has anything mean to say to anyone. She is very good friends with her cousins, Sophie and Amy, Marie-Grace Gardner, and Beth Hamilton.

(right) Rebecca Montoya(8) is the youngest Montoya and one of the loudest. She loves drawing and wants to look pretty, but doesn't really make a huge effort. She loves taking care of her garden, epsecially the flowers, which were a gift from her cousin Amy. She washs, delivers, and picks up the clothes for the laundry business. She doesn't know how to sew or weave, but is going to be learning, now that she is enrolled in Proper School with her best friend, Britta. She speaks with a slight Spanish accent, and despite her age has a small lisp too. She is very childlike, unlike some of the other girls in town. Rebecca only considers herself to have one other friend besides Britta: her llama Kuzco.

Kuzco is Rebecca's llama. He is very quiet and tolerant. He even puts up with Rebecca dragging him around town for "walks". He is fed a special, nutrious, llama diet by Rebecca.

Manzinilla is tha Montoya's rascally goat. Shes love getting in the house to eat Josefina's herbs and the expensive grains. She is exteremly energetic and is always bouncy.

Sombrita is Josefina's babay goat that she raised when Sombrita's mother died giving birth. Later Sombrita got in a terrible accident that left her without a left eye. She now wears a bell and bandana so everyone know where she is. She is very shy, but loves Josefina and loves cuddling with her. 

Diego is the Montoya's billy goat. He is the leader of the goat (and llama) herd and for some reason is extermely protective of Sombrita. He always walks on her blind side to keep her from harm and only trusts Josefina, becuase Sombrita trusts her. Rebecca is scared of him.

Papita is one of the chickens. She is scared of everything and is only calm in her cage. She will come out to eat however.

Valentina is a fairly normal chicken and is named for the heart shaped mark on her rump.

 

Gardner



 (right)Meredith (Merry) Gardner(17) is the only bank teller for the Pleasantville Bank. She is very good at math, and doesn't mind sitting sround all day, so she is perfect for the job. She is a very quiet person and likes to read, draw, and sometimes paint. She is not a very good seamtress, but is a fairly good knitter, and would like to try crocheting. She also doesn't cook much, because of work. She does like to call on her friends, mostly Samantha Parkington(her best friend) and Felicity Merriman.  She lives with her cousin and younger sister in a small house on a hill in the forest. Her and Lacy's style is very eclectic. Sometimes they dress modern, sometimes Victorian, and sometimes 1850s New Orleans.

 

(middle) Lacy Gardner(10) is Merry's younger sister. She is learning to sing and likes playing with her best friend Clara Wright. She cooks all of the family's meals and takes care of the house. She does not know how to sew and is excited to learn this in Proper School . Lacy loves animals and loves living so close to them.

 

(left) Marie-Grace Gardner(15) is still very new to town. She was born in 1850s New Orleans, but after her mother and younger brother died, she and her father, a doctor, moved to Pennsylvannia for two years. Then they moved back to New Orleans before Marie-Grace recently left for Pleasantville. She is still looking for a job. She likes to stay busy and loves singing, especially opera. She enjoys reading, cooking, baking, cleaning, and talking to others.

 

Checkers is Merry's cat whom she found as a stray on the streets. He likes to sleep and investigating Lacy's mini horse Twinkle. 

Twinkle is Lacy's minature horse that was a present from Santa Claus. She is a very clean little horse, so she is allowed inside the house. She is very much like a large dog. She is very sweet and a lot like Lacy.

 

 

Parkington

(back)Samantha Parkington(17) is the richest person in town. She is going to live in a large Victorian mansion with her cousins, however the mansion is not built yet, so they are living on the property in a temporary house. Samantha loves to sew, call on friends, have tea, play games with her cousins, sing opera, play piano, and plan town events. Her best friend is Merry Gardner. She attended many deportment academies in New York, making her well qualified to run the Pleasantville Manners Academy (Proper School). She is a very loving, understanding, and caring person.

(front left)Bridget O'Malley(8) is Samantha and Clara's cousin. When her family in Ireland was too poor to take care of all of their children, they asked Samantha if Bridget could live with her. She is very touchy about her hair, espcially when people comment that she is Irish, but does not have red hair. She is a sweet, polite, and well-mannered little girl. She loves playing with her dolls, Violet and Daisy, and likes to play with her best friend Nancy Merriman. She likes to cook and bake and hopes to learn embroidery and more sewing in Proper School.

(front right)Clara Wright(12) is Samantha and Bridget's cousin. She moved to Pleasantville after her mother couldn't put up with her antics anymore. She is pretty mischeavious and likes to pull small harmless pranks on others. She likes playing with Bridget and Nancy, however they are a bit too dainty for her tastes. Her best friend is Lacy Gardner who is wild enough to have fun with, but can draw the line. Clara likes playing with her ninja toys and likes doing one-woman role-playing games.Despite her craziness, Clara is also a nice, sweet, and eager to please 12 year old. She is enrolled at Proper School.

Lady is Samantha's purebred, mini, black poodle. She is a tad yappy but likes to play with Bridget and curl up with Samantha on the couch. She and Clara have mutual dislike for one another (dog, cat).
